How to Switch IPTV Providers Without Losing Your Setup

Switching providers is mostly a login swap, not a full reset — if you do it in the right order.

Keep the Same App

Your favorites, categories, and layout live in the app (TiviMate, Smarters, etc.), not tied to a specific provider. Keeping the same app means you only need to update the login.

Update the Playlist, Not the App

In most apps, edit the existing playlist entry with new server URL/username/password rather than deleting and re-adding — this preserves your favorites and EPG settings.

Double-Check Category Mapping

Channel numbering and category names can differ slightly between providers, so favorites may need a quick re-check after switching, even if the app setup itself carried over.
