LG's webOS is a closed system compared to Android TV, which is part of why IPTV apps are less common on LG sets. LG Smart TVs default to Wi-Fi during initial setup, but that's the most common source of buffering and pixelation on IPTV, especially with HD and 4K streams. A wired Ethernet connection to your router removes the variability of wireless interference, distance from the router, and competing traffic from phones and laptops on the same network. If channels play but the guide looks empty or generic, give it a few minutes on a stable connection rather than assuming something is broken.
Some LG models cache this data more aggressively than others, so a full guide refresh may require closing and reopening the app rather than just navigating back to the channel list.
If you have more than one LG TV in the house, most IPTV plans limit how many streams can run from the same login at once rather than limiting how many devices the login is installed on. That means you can set up Hot Player on every LG TV you own, but if two of them try to play a stream simultaneously under a single-connection plan, one will typically get logged out or show a connection error.
